The chart compares the percentage of people’s costs on different products and services in one european county in 1998 and 2008. Overall, Electronic goods and clothing are the one of the fields that more money was spent. Moreover, less money was used for going to the cinema and buying newspapers.
As years passed, more interest began to be shown in technologies and fashion than in the past. So amount of money that spent on these fields also increased. In 1998 , Electronic goods and clothing constituted 16% and 12% of people’s expenditure but in 2008, they saw a slight rise. Proportion of the money spent on eating out stayed stable.
As a result of access to internet there was a noticeable decrease in income of companies which sell newspapers and magazines. Nowadays persons don’t spend money on going to cinema as they used to. So it fell from 3% to 1%.
