The diagram illustrates information about a public library in a town called the Little Chaffont.
Overall, the majority of the library’s readers are adults aged from eighteen to sixty-four. Moreover, fiction books are the most popular kind among children and adults, proving their attraction despite ages.
It is clear from the pie chart that grown-ups make up 51% of the library’s members. Similarly, children also make up a large part of the library’s readers, accounting for up to 22%. In contrast, only 15% and 12% of members, respectively, are teenagers and adults aged 65 and above.
The total number of books borrowed from the library increased from roughly 15,000 in 2007 to more than 20,000 in 2011. Afterward, the figure fluctuated around 20,000 and reached its peak at about 22,000 in 2016. Most of the books loaned by the library belong to the fiction genre, with both children’s and adult fiction adding up to 76% of the books loaned. The same thing goes for adult non-fiction books with 13%. In contrast, all other kinds of items there, namely children’s non-fiction and DVDs, along with adults’ audiobooks, only make up 5%.
