The pie chart illustrates the percentage of UK tourists in five different age groups traveling to Spain over two years: 1983 and 2003.
Overall, it is evident that the proportion of visitors in almost all age categories saw an upward trend, with the exception of those aged 25 to 34 and 35 to 54 years. Notably, the 35-54 age group comprised the largest share of all UK travelers.
Initially, individuals in the 35-54 age bracket accounted for half of all UK tourists. However, there was a significant decline, resulting in this group’s representation dropping to 35% in 2003, although they still constituted the majority of UK travelers. Conversely, the percentage of visitors aged 25 to 34 and those over 55 was 16% and 20%, respectively. The 25-34 age group experienced a considerable decrease to 12%, falling below the older cohort, which saw a dramatic increase, culminating at 26% by the end of the period.
Examining the remaining groups, 10% of UK visitors were under 15 years old, nearly double the 4% of those aged 16-24. Over the following two decades, the younger group witnessed a slight increase to 12%, while the 16-24 age group experienced a substantial rise, growing to approximately 15%.
