Overall, Monday and Friday witnessed the highest price of airline tickets of both flying routes, from and to Sydney in both weeks. Meanwhile, the price of the tickets in Week 1 mirrored a similar trend compared to that of Week 2.
Regarding Week 1, each ticket from Sydney to Melbourne cost 80 dollars, which was 20 dollars higher than that of the return one. From Tuesday to Thursday, the figures for both ticket types hovered around 30 to 40 dollars each. Friday witnessed a significant rise in the ticket price as one would have to spend around 80 dollars on each flight to and from Sydney. A similar gap of 10 dollars was recorded in the ticket prices for a journey from Sydney to Melbourne and those of the opposite direction, with the respective figures for Saturday being 70 and 60 dollars, and for Sunday being 60 and 50 dollars.
Turning to Week 2, the ticket prices for a flight from Melbourne to Sydney were relatively similar from Monday to Thursday, falling between the range from 30 to 40 dollars. The figures for those of the opposite direction shared a similar pattern, with the exception being recorded on Monday as passengers needed to pay around 50 dollars. It is noticeable that the ticket price reached a peak on Friday, when each would cost roughly 75 dollars for flights from Sydney to Melbourn and 60 dollars for those of the reverse direction. Finally, the prices experienced a moderate fall to 50 dollars at the end of the second week.
