The illustrations provide data on rainfall and temperature indicators in two Brazilian cities: Brasilia and Recife.
Overall, both cities have an occurrence of rainfalls. However, while Recife experiences more frequent pattern of rainfalls during the summer, Brasilia has significantly lower rates. Nevertheless, the temperature range in Brasilia is broader, whereas Recife’s weather remains consistently warmer over the year.
While Brasilia has particularly lower rainfall incidents during the summer months, with only two to three wet days, Recife’s figures reach 23 to 24 times of wet days. Moreover, although the average number of sunshine hours varies in both cities, the number of thunder occurrences is significantly higher in the capital.
Brasilia sees the vast range of temperatures throughout the year from 0°C to above 40°C. Winter and spring terms have relatively stable weather, with an average temperatures varying from around 12°C to nearly 35°C, whereas the period from June to October shows fluctuations between 0°C and approximately 38°C . In contrast, Recife’s weather maintains from 20°C to almost 40°C, with June being the only month when temperature drops to 15°C.
