The graphs represent meteorological data of two Brazilian cities: the capital Brasilia and Recife. Each of the figures shows an average annual rainfall and an average monthly temperature.
The rainy season in the capital city of Brasilia starts in October and ends in April, while in Recife it starts in February and ends in August. There are fewer sunny days during the rainy season: in Brasilia the least sunny month is December at a daily average of 4 hours whereas in Recife it is August at 3 sunny hours a day. Another significant feature of the graph is a correlation between thunder and rainfall: in Brasilia thunder occurs up to 15 days. In contrast, in Recife thunder is infrequent.
The average monthly temperature also varies: it decreases to 0 degrees Celsius in Brasilia, while in Recife it does not get lower than 15 degrees. However, June is recorded as the coldest month in both cities. Nevertheless, the temperature in Brasilia fluctuates by approximately 30 degrees, while in Recife it is 10 degrees lower. In Brasilia the temperature gradually declines from January to June and rises until October. However, the temperature in Recife remains constantly high.
