The following graphs give data about where the dance classes take place and the types of dances young individuals in an Australian town are learning.
Overall, it is clear that a large proportion of the classes are located in private studios. While a majority of people from the youngest age group prefer ballet, the oldest group prefers going to modern dances.
To begin, 48% of the dance classes take place in private studios, which is twice as much as the figure for school halls. Similarly, 18% of the classes locate in community halls and other places, being larger than the proportion of college-based studios by almost a factor of 2.
Turning to the types of dances young people study, 600 children under 11 participate in ballet, which is twice as large as the number of people between 11 and 16 years old attending those classes. With regard to the other dance types such as tap, around 400 individuals of both age groups participate in it. Meanwhile, above 500 individuals from 11 to 16 years old study modern dances, and only 300 of the other age group learn it.
