The charts below illustrates the differences in the causes that motivated students to choose studying at a college or university in the years 1985 and 2017.

Overall, while the reasons might still be the same after so many years, its noticeable that with the change of the century and social differences that affected everything, some reasons have lost its popularity and wortgh whilst others did the opposite by gaining more attention.

In 1985, the biggest reason for students to choose university was suitable degree courses, which took up more than half of the chart. Quality of resources and good sporta with social activities both take quarters, which left proximity to parental home and quality of teaching to the last places.

In 2017, changes took place. Degree courses that suited students was still an important reason for motivation despite 32 years that flew by. The resources that had high quality was still a need among the young. However, an opportunity for nice sports and activities in society had reduced. The quality of teachers and their knowledge has raised itself on the pedestral, now becoming valuable than before. Yet, the comfort of having their parents house nearby their learning building had only increased.
