In 2015, the household budget distributed very evenly. 35% of the budget spent on housing, which was the biggest expense. Half of the budget spent on lifestyle stuffs, with 25% of food and clothing, and 25% of vacation and leisure. Meanwhile, just 15% of the budget spent on miscellaneous.
In 2020, 50% of the household budget spent on housing. The budget spent on food and clothes had slightly increased to 35%, while the spending on vacation and leisure dropped to 10%. Therefore, the spending on miscellaneous was only 5%.
Overall, the median income families put biggest emphasis on housing and lowest expenses on miscellaneous in both years. However, they spent more on housing and food and clothing in 2020 than they had in 2015.
