Overall, it is clearly seen that in almost countries, the average age of men retiring was higher than women. Moreover, Netherlands,Sweden and UK were three countries where both male and female retired at the highest age, compared to another countries.

In 2004, the average men chose to retire in sweden appeared to be the highest number,with nearly 63 years old, followed by netherlands and UK with 62 and 61 years old, respectively. Meanwhile, in france this number was lowest, with only 59 years old. Comparing to 2008 , the retirement age of men of three countries which were mentioned in 2004 and Denmark observed a minimal increase, with nearly a half of a year. Meanwhile, Germany experienced a dramatic growth in the retirement age, from 61 to 62 years old. Lastly, France, where had the lowest retirement age of man in 2004, saw a slight increase with only a quarter of a year.

On the other hand, there was also an upward trend in the retirement age of women in almost countries except for France and Italy, with the highest number belonged to Sweden while the opposite was Denmark.
