In detail, globally the consumption of processed food was the highest accounting for 41%, followed by vegetables and fruits at 29%, animal food was 26%, while nuts and seeds stood at the lowest at 4%.
China followed similar data trend as the world for the intake of processed food and vegetables. The intake of processed food was at the highest level at 34%, followed by vegetables at 32%, while animal food was the lowest at 15% and nuts and seeds was 19%.
In India, the consumption of processed food was at the highest level similar to the world and China, the data stood at 39%, while animal food was at 27%. The percentage for the intake of vegetables accounted for 23% but nuts and seeds were only 11%.
