The given line graphs illustrate the changes in the ownership of three different electric appliances – washing machine, refrigerator, and vacuum cleaner and another bar graph depicts the number of hours per week spent in doing daily chores in a country from the years 1920 to 2019.
Overall, refrigerators and vacuum cleaners were the appliances that were owned by most of the households by the year 2019 although they were used very less in the early years. The possession of washing machines remained stagnant over the years. The number of hours spent on doing household work drastically decreased by 2019.
In 1920, the refrigerator was the least used appliance, owned by just 5% of the households. In contrast, washing machines were possessed by 40% of the households which was the highest, followed by vacuum cleaners at 30%. The amount of hours spent in doing daily chores were nearly 50 hours per week which was the maximum in the year 1920.
According to the second graph, the time spent on doing houseworks gradually decreased over time and settled at 10 hours per week in 2019. This is the result because the usage of electronic appliances increased over time where vacuum cleaners were owned by almost every household, at just above 100% in 2019 , similarly refrigerators at 100%. Washing machines were owned at 65% of the houses.
