The line graph compares percentage of electrical appliances usage among households in a given 100-years period. With a single graph, illustrating the time which people spent doing their house chores.
Overall, the trend of using all electrical devices was relatively upward in the given period. Meanwhile, number of hours people spent on their housework saw a dramatic decline.
It is evident that, washing machine was the most popular device in the beginning of 1920 with amount of 40 percent. Vacuum cleaner was in second place with about 30 percent and a negligible percent of people were interested in Vacuum cleaner. However, 1980 was a milestone in usage of electrical appliances. Refrigerator usage saw a significant rise and became the most relevant device among people with a rise of about 70 percent in comparison to 1920. Vacuum cleaner was the second popular device in this year with 90 percent usage, however, the trend of suing washing machines was almost stable and eventually reached to 70 percent at the end of 2019.
with regards to the second graph, the trend of spending time for housework was downward, starting with 50 hours per week in 1920 and ending with 10 hours in 2019. despite of this changes, the number of hours people spent on doing house chores was fairly stable from 1960 to 2019.
