The line charts illustrate the variation in ownership of electrical devices and how much time people spent on housework in house from 1920 to 2019
Overall, the proportion of electrical devices has increased sharply over time while the amount of time they were doing housework decreased dramatically
Based on the information shown on the first chart the ownership os refrigerators, vacuum cleaners and washing machines increased sharply from 1920 to 1960 while it’s increased slightly for refrigerators and vacuum cleaners. since then to 2019 the proportion of homes which owned washing machines stayed relatively the same ,but it’s rose rapidly for both refrigerators and vacuum cleaners until they reached 100%
Im the second chart we can see that in 1920 people spent fifty hours on housework per week and decreased to nearly 30 hours in 1940 and twenty in 1960 until it reached only around 15 hours in 1980 to 2000. In 2019 the amount a person spent on housework was at it’s lowest point in almost 10 hours per week
