The pie chart compares the distribution of water throughout the world, while the bar chart compares the percentage of water in terms of usage for agriculture, domestic, and industry purposes in 3 different countries (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Canada). Units are measured in proportions.
Overall, the majority of the world’s water is saltwater, with a small proportion of fresh water, while ice glaciers account for the largest share of fresh water. In terms of water usage, agriculture is the leading sector in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, but at the same time, it has the lowest share in Canada.
Starting with the 2 pie charts, it is clear that the rate of salt water ranked the highest with an impressive 97%, followed by fresh water at a negligible 3%. As for the usage of fresh water, ice glaciers record the highest share, constituting 79%, with ground water and surface water trailing behind at 20% and a negligible 1% respectively.
When it comes to the bar chart, the agriculture sector is the leading user of water in 2 regions (in Egypt at 80% and in Saudi Arabia at 75%), but in Canada, it makes up only 10%. The share of water use for domestic purposes in Egypt is equal to that of Saudi Arabia (almost 10%). The industry sector, although having the lowest share in Egypt and Saudi Arabia (8 and 10% in turn),has by far the largest proportion of water usage in Canada (80%).
