Overall, there was a significant increase in the market share of OS1 and OS2 over the given period, while the share of OS3 and other systems generally declined. OS1, in particular, saw the most substantial growth and became the dominant operating system by 2015.
Between 2012 and 2013, the market share of OS1 rose dramatically from 9% to 34%, overtaking OS3, which had previously held the largest share but dropped sharply to just 9%. In contrast, OS2 and the “Others” category experienced notable growth during the same period, with OS2 increasing to 15% and Others doubling to 42%.
In 2014, all three operating systems—OS1, OS2, and OS3—continued to gain market share, reaching 47%, 18%, and 12%, respectively. As a result, the share of the Others category decreased significantly to 23%.
By 2015, OS1 had further solidified its position, rising to 52%. OS3 also saw a slight increase, reaching 15%. Conversely, the Others category declined to 15%. Notably, OS2’s share remained stable at 18% in the final year.
