The following pie chart comprises data regarding the proportions of the reasons for deforestation in Southeast Asia in 2022, while the bar chart illustrates the number of endangered species in North America in 2022.
Overall, agriculture accounts for the largest proportion in the pie chart; similarly, amphibians represent the largest endangered group, as shown in the bar chart.
According to the pie chart, agriculture constitutes the predominant figure, at 45%, followed by logging at 25%. By comparison, mining represents only 5%, making it one of the smallest figures. The remaining reasons are Urban Expansion and Infrastructure, accounting for 10% and 15%, respectively.
The bar chart reveals considerable variation in the number of endangered species. Amphibians record the most significant figure, at 150 species. In contrast, insects record the least significant result, at 40 species. The number of endangered amphibians is therefore almost four times higher than that of insects. The figures for the other groups also differ considerably, for example there are 12o species of fish, while there are 70 species of reptiles. These number are indicating that some species are more vulnerable to extinction than others.
