The charts below provide information about the main reasons of migration to and immigration from the UK, in 2007.
With regards to the reasons of immigration from UK, most of the individuals were looking for a definite job, at 30%, acounting to one third of the total percentage of the persons that were asked. Formal study came at the second place, slightly more than a quarter of the total (26%), followed by accompany/join, looking for work and other reasons (15%, 12% and 11%). Less than one tenth stated no reason as to why they immigrated.
As far as the proportion in migration chart in UK is concerned, marginally less than one third (29%) migrated for a definite job. More than two-tenth migrated looking for work (22%), whereas 18% of the individuals gave no reason why they migrated, followed by 14% of persons stating other reasons and 13% saying they migrated to accompany or join. Only 4% expressed their reason of migration for formal study, accounting for the lowest percentage of all.
