The pie charts show proportion about students in the UK who can speak other languages beside english in two different times: 2000 and 2010.

Overall, students were more speaking foreign languges in the year 2010 compared to 2000, while spanish was the most popular second language in the UK in both periods.

In the first period we can see that, 30% of students can speak spanish, followed by those who only understanding english with 20%. French and another languages categories recorded the same percentage with 15%, while students who speaking german or having two languages recorded the lowest proportion at 10% each.

After ten years, students who using spanish as second language increased to 35%, recording the highest percentage in this period; similarly to spanish students, students who speaking another language or speaking two languages rose to 20%, and 15% respectively. In contrast, the other categories proportions declined in this period, accounting for 10% for each of them.
