The two charts illustrate electricity consumption by seven sectors in Eastern Australia in 2007 and 2010, and the data is shown in percentage.
Overall, electricity used by the residents were the highest, followed by commercial use in both years. Similarly, transport and agriculture were the sectors that used the least amount of electricity in those years. Changes were seen in only three sectors – aluminium, manufacturing, and other metals – between these years.
In both years, residental use of electricity showed the highest percentage of 28%, whereas agriculture and transportation sectors used very little electricity with the percentage of 1%. Similarly, the commercial use of electricity was the second highest with 23% in 2007, and it stayed the same in 2010. Mining also showed a steady use of 9% electricity in these years.
Aluminium and manufacturing used the same amount of electricity with 13% in 2007, but their use declined to 11% and 9% respectively in 2010. In contrast, the use of electricity by other metals rose from 12% in 2007 to 18% in 2010.
