The table illustrates the percentage of energy produced from six different sources in the UK in 1990 and 2020.
Overall, it was evident that coal, oil and other resouces have experienced a decline, while as for natural gas, nuclear power and renewable energy increased over a three decade period of time. Therefore, renewable energy became the highest compared the others.
In 1990, coal reaches its highest peak at 38%, but it fell sharply to 12% in 2020. On the reverse tragedy, natural gas, nuclear power and renewable energy increased over the 30 year period, where natural gas rose up 6%, followed by nuclear power which increased 5%, and renewable energy that skyrocketed reaching 30%, making it the primary source in 2020.
The oil production decreased from 10% to 7% and the other resources, which manufactured the least energy in both years fell slightly from 7% to 3% by the end of 2020.
