The diagrams depict the proportion of food and goods bought in stores in some European countries in 1998 and 2008.
Overall, all countries witnessed the upward trend in the percentage of food and goods sold n supermarkets. The most notable change is that in 1998, Country 2 ranked first in two charts, but in 2008, Country 1 was the leader.
Looking at the details, increased residents purchased food in supermarkets in Country 1 after 10 years as its statistic saw a surge, from 10% to 35%. The percentage of food bought in stores also increased in two other countries, but less pronounced, as their graphs went up around 4% and 2% respectively.
The similar trend could also be seen in the case of Country 2’s percentage of goods sold in supermarkets. The increase was only approximately 3%; whereas more dwellers in Country 2 and 3 purchased goods in supermarkets after 10 years. Starting at around 4% and 1% in 1998, figures of Country 1 and 3 skyrocketed to nearly 40% and 15% respectively in 2008.
