The pie charts compare the different rates of professions 23 to 65 years old people have in the UK and a UK town called Ashby in 2008.
Overall, people who work in personal service field made up the majority of total occupations in Ashby, while in the whole UK, office work was the most popular job.
In Ashby town, people mainly chose to work in personal service with 21 percent, whereas only 8 percent of townspeople had an occupation as professional worker, making it least preferred job. 14% of residents was not employed and the same rate was seen in shop work. The second most preferred occupation was the office work, accounting for 18%. Percentage of construction employers and technical workers were 16% and 9%, respectively.
The UK recorded a slightly high proportion of citizens employed in office work, at 19%, while the figure for the unemployed and construction workers was only about half that, at 10%. Personal service workers constituted 17% of whole UK citizens. Likewise, proportion of technical workers was also 17%. 13% of people worked as shop workers, while the figure for professional workers was only 1% higher than them. In addition, only one tenth of citizens had no job.
