Overall, Russia had the greatest number of spacecraft launched for all the time, in addition the USA sent the largest number of spacecrafts into space. India and Canada made up the least number of spacecraft launched. The highest percentage of total missions accounted for communications, whereas a small minority of planetary exploration.
Russia sent a large proportion of spacecraft with 3484. The second and the third highest proportions were spacecraft launched by the USA and Commercial, which constituted 1760 and 539. The European Union, other, Japan and China represented less significant shares of spacecraft sent with 285, 214, 114 and 111 respectively. India and Canada made up tiny fractions of spacecraft launched with 48 and 28.
According to the bar chart, communications and surveillance satellites represented the major percentage of total missions with approximately 25 and over just 20 percent. Research constituted the third highest portion with around a tenth of total missions. Manned space program, weather observation and planetary exploration with the slight difference accounted for a small percentage of total missions with about 5 percent.
