The two pie charts offer insights into the proportion of time that workers allocated to six distinct activities in a specific nation from 1958 to 2008.
Overall, among the six, the figure for working, relaxing at home, travelling to work, and other hobbies exhibited an upward trend, in contrast with the case of others. Moreover, the majority of adults spent their time working.
Examining the three outdoor activities, throughout the period, more and more people used their time for work, demonstrated by a significant increase from 33% to 42%, compared with a decrease of about 13% in the percentage of time dedicated to hanging out with their loved ones. In addition, there was a steep rise from 6% to 8% in the data relating to other interests or playing sports.
Turning to the three indoor ones, the fifty-year span witnessed a marginal growth of just 5% in the share of time spent relaxing at home, compared with a considerable decrease from 32% to 25% in the figure for sleeping. Finally, the percentage of time that workers allocated to other interests and playing sports went up from 6% to 8% in 2008.
