The pie charts give information about how much spending the students in a European country allocated to four categories during the years from 1985 to 2015. In general, there are many different changes in the given period of time.
The most manifest feature is that the proportion of spending on renting in 2015 was the highest, taking up 50% of their total expenditure. The figure was 7% higher than that in 2005, while outnumbered that from 1985 to 1995 by a ratio of two to one, meaning that there was a tremendous stress from renting house for these students. By contrast, the proportion of spending on clothes in 1985 (20%) was twice as high as that in 2015, with a decline trend.
Another crucial characteristic is that the expenditure on other two categories were steady in this period. To be specific, starting at 30% in 1985, the percentage of spending on foods has a downward trend, with the figure reaching 22% in 2015. It was also worth noticing that a narrow gap of 10% can be found in the proportion of spending on entertainments, whereas the figure was the highest in 1995, at 28%.
