The pie charts compare the proportion of volunteers across six different types of organizations namely environment, art, sport, health care, education and others in two years 2008 and 2014.
Overall, the distrubution of environmental, sport and heath care increased over the years while the educational, art and the other organizations recorded a reversed trend. Additionally, the environmental volunteering remained the highest share in both years and health care volunteering was lowest in the 2 years given.
Regarding the categories that increased, in 2008, Environmetal recorded at 21%, followed by sport at 15% while art acounted for only 7%. By 2014, sport volunteering had surged by 10 percentage points to reach 25%, representing the most dramatic growth among all categories. Similarly, Environmental volunteering rose by 8 percentage point to 29%, becoming the largest sector. Meanwhile, health care witnessed a modest growth, just 1% to 8%.
Turning to declining categories, Educational volunteering was the most prominent in 2008 at nearly one forth, 24%. While Art and Others comprised 18% and 15%, respectively. However, Educational exprienced a shrap fall, dropping by 7% to reach 17% in 2014. Both Art and Others also decreased by equal margins of 6 percentage points, falling to 12% and 9%, respectively.
