In 2008, educational organizations had the largest proportion of volunteers at 24%, closely followed by environmental and art organizations at 21% and 18%, respectively. Meanwhile, the figures for sport and other organizations both made up 15%. Health care organization has the lowest percentage at just 7%.
By 2014, the figure for environmental organization increased remarkably to 29%, which was higher than that of sport (25%) a small margin of 4 percentage points. By contrast, the percentages of educational and art organizations declined to 17% and 12%. Similarly, other organizations also edged down to 9%, marginally higher than the figure for healthcare, which rose slightly to 8%.
