The six pie charts compare some information about the proportion of water consumed for industries, agriculture, and domestic use in particular areas worldwide.
Overall, it is clear that more than half of the region uses water primarily for farming, while the rest of consume water for industries in North America and Europe.
According to agricultural water consumption, the figure for central Asia is the biggest area of water use, with 88%. The amount of water consumed is the second largest in Africa, at 84%. In contrast, the smallest portion belongs to Europe, making up 32% of the total. Then, it followed by water use in Southeast Asia, South America, and North America, representing 81%, 71%, and 39% respectively.
When it comes to industries, the percentage of industry use accounts for the most significant portion in Europe (53%), while the lowest proportion is in central Asia (only 5%) of the total. Also, industrial water consumption in other regions occupies a certain portion. Significantly, domestic use accounts for only a minor part of all categories. Interestingly, southeast Asia consumes water for domestic development (7%), which is matched by the area in Central Asia.
