The chart illustrates the proportion of employees in three sectors, namely agriculture, industry and services in 1980 and 2010.Overall,there is a shift in all three categories in two years 1980 and 2010.While the figure for industry increased significantly, that for services,in contrast, decreased dramatically.Another striking point is that China exhibits a dissimilar rate of distribution.
In 1980,the proportion of German workers in industry was the highest ,at 60%,followed by that for USA and Japan ,both at approximately 50%.Over two decades, the figure for Germany and Japan both increased to 80% ,while the percentage for USA’s employees in this category just rose to 70% in 2010.In contrast,China exposed no changes in the rate of industrial workers, remain at 40% in two surveyed years.
In the services sector, the proportion of Germany’s and USA’s employees both shared the same data in 1980,at roughly 50%,followed by Japan’s figure at 40% in the same year.In 2010,the percentage for these three countries’ workers all decreased by 10%.In the same category,Chine saw the figure declined by a half, from 50% in 1980 to 25% in 2010.There are no more than 10% in the percentage of Germany’s,USA’s and Japan’s agricultural employees in both two years.China,on the other hand, experienced the most remarkable drop, from 70% in 1980 to 50% in 2010,still remained the highest proportion in this sector.
