The charts provided exhibit the employment rates of males and females aged 60-64 in Australia, Japan, the USA and Belgium between 1970 and 2000.
From a broad perspective, we can observe that Japanese men and women were the most employees in both 1970 and 2000. On the contrary, Belgian men’s rates experienced a dramatic decrease, witnessing a significant gap of 60%.
Initially speaking, in 1970, Japanese men made up to 84% among all workers. The subsequent highest percentage was witnessed by Belgian men, comprising 79% of the total, however, the rates then declined dramatically to 19% in 2000. Meanwhile in 2000, the USA showcased the second biggest number, accounting for 55%.
Additionally, in terms of women workers, in 1970, Japan and the USA saw the majority of female laborers, representing 43% and 36%. Furthermore, Belgian women displayed the lowest rates in both times, exhibiting 8% in 1970 and decreased to 7% in 2000.
