The pie charts demonstrate the percentage of holidaymakers’ use of four various types of accommodation in three different years: 1988, 1998, and 2008. Overall, it is clear that in all given years, staying with family showed the highest proportion. It is also worth mentioning that the figures for rented apartments and hotels underwent noticeable rises during the study period, while the opposite was true for staying with family and camping.
Looking at the charts in more detail, there was a marked rise in the proportion of staying with family, which stood at 52% in 1988, but had increased to 54% in 1998. It then decreased to 44% in 2008.
When it comes to rented apartments and hotels, their figures started at 7% and 15% in 1988, respectively. They then saw a dramatic rise by the end of the period, with both reaching 22%.
The figure for camping declined markedly, going down from 26% to 12% between the three given years.
