The three pie charts illustrate percentage of four different types of accommodation – staying with family, rented apartment, camping, and hotels – by holidaymakers between 1988 and 2008.
Overall, proportions of all types decreased except hotels and camping by the end of the period. In addition, staying at home was in favour among people throughout the period, making its proportions dominant.
Focusing on the highest figures first, proportion of staying at home was at 52% at the beginning of the period. Despite a slight increase to 54% in 1998,its percentage fell to 44%. Almost same pattern ca be observed in a portions of camping, this type started at 26% in 1988 and dropped gradually to just 125 by 2008.
Turning to smallest figures, spend holidays in hotels started at 15% in 1988, however, climbed to 22% by 1998 and remained unchanged by the end of the period. Meanwhile, rented apartment was less common at the start of the period at only 7% but sharply increased to 22% by 2008.
