The pie charts illustrate the percentage of people who used four different categories of accommodation in three different years. In general, while the proportion of hotels and rented apartment increased, the reverse was true for staying with family and camping. Moreover, staying with family stood out with higher figures among all categories throughout the period.
Focusing on increases first, starting at 7% the percentage of rented apartment saw a slight growth in 1998, after which the figure witnessed a twofold rise by the end of the period. In 1988, the percentage of hotels which stood at 15%, climbed to 22%, a figure that then remained stable.
When it comes to decreases, the proportion of camping beginning with 26% experienced a noticeable decline to 13% by 1998 and remained relatively stable by 2008. Staying with family which was 52% increased minimally to 54% in 1998, but figure that then reduced substantially to 44% in the end of the period. Despite this, it was the most preferable choice for holidaymakers over the period.
