The charts illustrate proportion of Uk’s students who were able to speak languages beside english, in the years 2000 and 2010.
Overall, there was a significant increase of bilingualism and multilingualism from 2000 to 2010. the proportion of no other language and french decreased by the 2000, as opposed to spanish, another language, and two other language , as they saw significant increase of educator.
In detail, the spanish only category accounts for the highest percentage of uk students with the knowledge of spanish, as it increased significantly from 30% in 2000 to 35% by the 2010. Followed by students of the another language which rose from 15 to 20 by the end of 2010.
On the other hand, educators with knowledge of solely english in britain were 20% in the 2000, however this number fell by 2010 to 10%. While french language lost its appeal by 5% in 2010 from its 15% proportion in the 2000, the category of two other language rose to 15% from 10%. German language stayed at the same percentage of 10 during both years.
