The pie charts below demonstrate the proportion of British students at a university who know multiple languages, in 2000 and 2010
Overall, Spanish was the dominant language in both years. Additionally, it is seen that the number of students studying foreign language increased over time.
Looking at the details, Spanish was the most popular one which accounts for 30% from all individuals. At te second place come students who spoke only English with 20%. And an interest pattern can be noticed from remaining categories: students who speak another language and French share the same proportion which is 15 percent. Also the group of German speakers and the group speakers of two more languages have the same percentage, 15% each.
Moving to the next diagram , the Spanish still remains the most spoken language, and it even raised to 35% in 2010. The number of people who speak only English gradually fell down to 10% as well as French equalling to German which also accounts for one fifth of the whole proportion , but unlike the other two German haven’t changed . Eventually the last change to be mentioned is that the proportion of both who speak another language and two more languages witnessed the same increase for 5 % levelling off at 20% and 15% respectfully.
