The two bar charts compare the protein and calorie absorbability of people in four regions of the world.
Overall, the residents in North America intake the largest amount of protein and calories. Meanwhile, almost all products are made from animals that have a bigger contribution than that from other sources in almost all countries surveyed with the exception of India.
In North America, the amount of protein intake from animals is approximately 62 units, that is triple that from other sources. The total amount of animal protein intake in North America exceeds the ideal amount, at nearly 70 units. This was followed by Latin America as the total amount of protein consumed stood at 45 units, with animal-based making up about 71%. Meanwhile, the data for Indian and East African are relatively similar, ranging from 28 to 31 units. The ratio of protein from animals to others is almost one to one in these two countries.
About the calories absorbability, in North America, people consume the largest amount of calories, at nearly 3500 units, surpassing the ideal amount by nearly 500 units. People in Latin America have the calories consumed at nearly the ideal level, at about 300 units in total. The lower data belong to East African and Indian, which are 2300 units and 2000 units respectively.
