Overall, there were dramatic rises in the percentage of PhD-Science, whereas First Degree-Art significantly decreased. What is more, the proportion of Master-Science stayed unchanged during this period.
In 1990, the largest percentage was employees with Master’s degrees in Science at 29%, which sustained throughout the two decades. Conversely, the percentage of employees with First Degrees in Art decreased sharply from 15% to 2%. There was also a slight decline in employees with First Degrees in Science, dropping from 20% to 11%.
Conversely, the percentage of employees with PhDs in Science saw significant growth, rising from 13% to 30%. Employees with Master’s degrees in Art increased steadily from 21% in 1990 to 23% in 2010. The increase in employees with PhDs in Art was less dramatic, moving from 2% to 5% over the same period.
