Overall, the proportions of employees possessing Ph.D. degrees and Master’s in Art displayed an upward trend, whereas those who achieved First degree in Science and Art exhibited a contrasting pattern. Looking first at the qualifications with an upward trend, the portion of Master-Science, which was the leading qualification in 1990, at nearly a third. However, by 2010, Ph.D in Science surged and overtook Master-Science, becoming the most common qualification (30%), while that of Master-Science remained unchanged over the period. Additionally, the figure for Ph.D in Art (2%) and Master-Art (21%) showed a marginal increase in 2010, reaching 5% and 23%, respectively.
Regarding other degrees with a downward trend, First Degree-Science depicted a decline by half in 2010, with the figure dropping from 20% to 11%. Furthermore, there was a dramatic decrease in the percentage of First Degree-Art, falling from 15% to only 2% by the end of the period, being the least favored qualification in 2010.
