The graphs give detailed information about the proportion of reasons for studying a particular in a UK university with the comparison of the years from 1987 and 2007.
Overall, it is clearly shown that suitable degree courses made up the largest share of reasons in both years, while opposite was true for good sports and social activities in 2007. It is also worth mentioning that there was a significant difference in the proportion of close to parental home between those two years.
Looking at the details, suitable degree courses were the most popular reasons among students accounted for more than one third in both years while increase in the proportion has been observed simultaneously. Quality of resources once making up one fifth of the proportion with being the largest figure after the suitable degree courses in 1987 dropped to the fourth place while recorded to be 17 percent by the year of 2007, respectively. The place of quality of resources were taken by the reasons showing the distant to their parental home and quality of teaching, with 22 and 18 percents. The largest drop was observed in the proportion of the smallest figure in 1987, with the increase determined by 12 percents while speeding up to the second rank by 2007.
