Overall, it is clear that the reasons were suitable degree courses and close to home rose sharply, while the opposite was true for quality of resources. Most of student apply on university were good sports and social activitie.
To begin with, students select higher education because they wanted good sports and social activities were 19% in 1987. This figure decreased considerably to 6%, which the lowest figure in 2007. Quality teaching accounted for 15% in 1987, but later a slight growth to 18% was seen of that after 20 years. Students pay little attention to living near their parents in 1987 with only 10%. However, in 2007 it was more two times with 22%.
Turning to quality of resources, this reason was considered by students with the figure being 21% in 1987. The quantity declined steadily to 17% in 2007. Suitable degree courses accounted for one-third of all reasons in both years, with 35% and 37% respectively.
