The two pie charts compare data on commuters’ purposes for driving or biking to work.
Overall, the majority of workers choose cycling because of physical health and less exhaust fumes. In contrast, those opting for driving a car account for the largest part of the chart as it is comfortable.
Regarding the incentive of cyclists, health benefits and lower pollution are stated as the biggest motivation, with both constituting 30% of the chart. Furthermore, the other three factors, including being quicker than driving, free, and no parking issues related are fairly evenly distributed, making up 15%, 13%, and 12% respectively.
Concerning the drivers’ motives, comfort is the largest constituent of the chart, with 4 out of 10 people deciding on it. That percentage roughly doubles the figure for long distance, which occupies 21% of the pie chart. Following closely, the fact that cars are speedier and help bring things to the office both account for 14%, which is 3% more than the rate of people who think driving is less life-threating than its biking counterpart.
