It is clear that the most common reasons to start getting education as a grown up are tied with maintaining an interest in the subject or wishing to gain qualifications: 40% and 38% respectively. It is a twofold amount of people in comparison with those who apply to educational programs because of them being advantageous for the current job – 22%. Almost the same percentage of people, 20% and 20%, make a choice to study as an adult in order to improve prospects of promotion or just due to the enjoyment of the process. Surprisingly, only 9% of adults perceive education as a way of networking.
Most people reckon that 40% of each educational course should be paid by the individual getting the education. Almost the same part of the course is awaited to be paid by the employer – 35 %. The remaining 25%, making a quarter of the whole cost, should be paid by the taxpayer.
Overall, although most adults perceive their present education as a beneficial option that would provide career growth, there are still those who think of adult education as of a joyful process making you network.
