The two bar graphs illustrate the destinations of undergraduates and postgraduates students who go to part-time work, voluntary work, further study or are still unemployed from the Great Britain in 2008.
It is clear that the number of undergraduates who choose the destinations excluding full-time work are more than those of the master’s degree students. Additionally, the majority of graduate and undergraduate students optted for pursuing further study, while the minority of them chose to participate voluntary work.
Pursuing further study were observed as the most popular destinations for undergraduates, represented nearly 50% than the number who engaged in part-time work or under employment, accounting for 29665 students, while voluntary work attracted the smallest number with around 3500 students. The figures between part-time work and underemployment were roughly similar, which was 17735 and 16235 respectively.
The number of postgraduates students who chose further study were also the predominant destination among all, accounting for 2735 students, followed by part-time work with 2535 students and unemployment with 1625 students. However, voluntary work remained the least popular choice, with only 345 students.
