The charts compare the proportions of UK graduates and postgraduates who entered different types of employment after leaving college in 2008.
Overall, further study was the most common destination for both groups, while voluntary work was the least popular choice.
Among UK graduates, the largest number of individuals continued their education, at 29,665. This was followed by those working part-time, with 17,735 people. The number of unemployed graduates was slightly lower, at 16,235. In contrast, only 3,500 graduates chose to do voluntary work, making it the least common option.
A similar pattern can be seen among UK postgraduates. The highest figure was also for further study, at 2,725. Which is lower than UK graduates. This was followed by part-time employment, with 2,535 individuals. The number of unemployed postgraduates stood at 1,625.
