Overall, the internet is the most popular source among young and middle-aged people, whereas retired people prefer TV the most.
Looking first at the internet, it accounts for the largest proportion among young people, at 56%. Similarly, middle-aged people also rely heavily on the internet, with the figure standing at 40%. In contrast, only 16% of retired people use the internet as their main source of information.
TV is most popular among retired people, making up 38% of the total. By comparison, the figures for young and middle-aged people are much lower, at 16% and 16% respectively.
Regarding printed newspapers and magazines, the proportions for young and middle-aged groups are 13% and 20% respectively, while retired people use this source more frequently, at 27%. Finally, other resources account for 15% among young people, 24% for the middle-aged group, and 19% for retired people.
