The bar graphs presents the dataabout various age groups who spend their average amount of time per day on listening to music and reading for pleasure in New Zealand.
Overall, the old people spend most of their time in both reading and listening to music than that of yound people. While the lower age groups spend less time on reading, the amount of time grows high as the age increases. Furthermore, both yound and old age groups spent most of their time listening to music.
The young age group (14 – 24 years old) spent least amount of time in reading, around 20 minutes per day. However, 25 – 32 age group almost spend double the amount of time (just below 40 minutes per day) than the younger age group. Additionally, the time spent on reading steadily increases as age increases until the age of 55, after that reading time rose very high for the 56 – 56+ age group.
On the other hand, young age groups spend most of the time on listening to music. But, as age increases, it is observed that the amount of time spent decreases gradually. After the age of 42, the time spent on this again improves progressively. Finally, both young generations and old generations spend nearly same amount of time on listening to music.
