The bar graphs compare how many people were affected by four types of noise pollution (traffic, train, aircraft, and insdustry) in city and rural areas during day and night.
Overall, it is clear that traffic is considered the most disturbing noise both in city and countryside regions, whereas industry noise had commonly little negative effect. Also, residents in city felt considerably more affected by all kinds of noise than people in rural areas.
In the case of traffic noise pollution, 64 millions people living in cities were affected by it in daytime and 48 millions in nighttime, which is twice as people in rural areas where 34 millions and 24 millions respectively were exposed to it. Train sound was the second place with 10 millions in day and 8 millions in night in city, and the numbers were slightly lower in rural areas with 8 millions and 6 millions each.
Compared to traffic and train, people affected by aircraft and industry were considerably low. In city, the numbers were 4 millions in day and 1 million in night, and in rural areas, it dropped to 2 millions and 1 million only. In countryside, there was no one affected by industry noise pollution.
