The chat indicates the average duration of time spending for two ubiquitous leisure activities of five surveyed age groups in New Zealand.
Overall, it can be seen that the oldest age group spare more time for reading while the youngest one express the most preference for listening to music. In addition, the duration of time for reading books increase over ages whereas the statistics for that of listening to music may decrease from the first to the third age groups before increase again in the two remaining groups.
In the first chart, the age group 55+ allocates itself as the highest time spending for reading which is 70 minutes per day, 20 minutes more than that of 45-54 age group and 25 minutes for 35-44 minutes. The highest group also exceed over the age group 25-34 and 15-24 which spend the least time for reading with the highest figure double the former whereas this figure also three and a half times higher than that of the latter.
Looking at the second chart, the youngest age group illustrates the highest time spending for listening to music with 80 minutes per day. Subsequently, the oldest age group duration also follows the route with just slightly lower than the youngest one. Moreover, the two age groups 25-34 and 45-54 simultaneously own the equal listening time which is 60 minutes per day. The figure for that of 35-44 age group remain the same with the reading time.
