The pie chart compares the utilisation of water in Australia in 2004 while the bar chart gives data about how water was used in residential areas in the same year.
It is clear that the water consumption of houses contributed to the largest proportion of the pie chart while a considerable amount of water was used for bathroom and garden from the observed bar chart.
According to the pie chart, we can see that 57% of water consumption was responsible for homes, which was much higher than that of the remainder. Meanwhile, other sources of consumption such as apartment, business and industry reported considerably lower water utilisation, ranging from 10% to 13%. Government used 6% of the total amount of water, which doubled the usage of others.
Regarding the bar chart, bathroom and garden stood out as the prominent consumption, contributing to 28% and 27% of the household water use respectively. Following closely, 20% and 15% of the domestic usage was attributed to washing clothes and toilet in this order. Kitchen registered the lowest amount of water consumption with only 10%.
